|
|
I was posting on Nexus (another syn forum) about things seeming to 'push my eyes' or feel too heavy on one side if they are not in the 'right' place.
| Quote: |
Sometimes when I look at things, or have just put something in a drawer, it feels like there is a weight pushing at me.
Like last night, I had bought a little cabinent with four drawers. Into one of which I put a pack of cards. But I could just feel a weight pushing where the cards where (well, not exactly 'feel' - I'm not a cabinet!). I spent at least ten minutes moving it about the four drawers. Each of them had a 'weight' of its own and this added itself to the 'weight' of the cards. One of the drawers didn't seem to have any weight, so I put the cards in that drawer. Even after that I had to put something it the drawer 'opposite' it to balance it off.
And sometimes when I look at things they seem to 'push' on me from certain areas until I move them or they go away. |
This turns out to be quite 'OCD-ish' and two people came up with the idea to find out how many syns have these sorts of feelings. One of them made a little quiz. I wondered if you would mind answering it?
| Quote: | Please answer the next questions:
1.- Do you have synaesthesia? (any type)
2.- Have you ever felt any sensation if things weren't quite evened out, or do you feel some kind of 'need' to put things on balance?
3.- Do you feel uncomfortable when things are out of place? |

Hehe I answered on the other forum... I'll post my answer here though too
1) Yes
2) Yes, I always buy 2 of the same object so one can go on the left and the other on the right.
3) Yes, If things aren't arranged how I would have arranged them, then I have to put it my way (sometimes I unintentionally hurt peoples feelings by rearranging the things they did... but I can't help it, it's an impulse) When I see that things are in their places I feel very calm and relaxed.. _________________ Don't take life too seriously, no body gets out alive anyway... |

1) Yes
2) not really the way you mean it. kind of, if things weren't even. like, if there was a stack of books and one was crooked, i'd have to fix it. but where there has to be even amounts on both sides. (usually)
3) yeah, kind of. if one drawer is open, i have to get up and close it or else i feel tense. i always feel like it has to be fixed or else i get all freaked out. _________________ me: "I made you a bracelet, Nicole! Guess what colors..."

1. Yes, grapheme-color.
2. Yes, on occasion. I have a mild case of OCD as well, which could also be the cause, or perhaps related.
3. Yes, but I can get used to it. |

1.- Do you have synaesthesia? (any type)
Yes
2.- Have you ever felt any sensation if things weren't quite evened out, or do you feel some kind of 'need' to put things on balance?
Yes! Oh wow, yes! It makes my ears feel like there's a note that's off pitch, or my hands will feel really dirty, or one side of my stomach will feel... heavier (? Not sure if this is the right word) than the other side. It drives me crazy until I fix it.
3.- Do you feel uncomfortable when things are out of place?
Definitely. See above for sensations. _________________ K: I'm not really one for rainbows

Me: I will teach you
K: Yes, please! |
